Blue Eyed Soul
Song was based loosely on an observed incident from the 80s where one guy told another that they saw the others ex out at the clubs and she was SO HOT. A truly NOT cool incident. While I had the story it went through a couple of chorus iterations before the working title got changed.
You say You saw here out at night
Owning the club; Looking more than alright
I dont have a say On what she does
But then again Nobody really does
Stop I dont want hear it
What she does and how she looks
Shes not who she once was
And shes gone Gone - gone
There was a time we finished each other sentences
She took her shirts from my closet
She used to sit so close when we sat
And shed hum as she stroked my back
But Stop I dont want hear it
Shes move on and Im no longer her one
Shes not who she once was
And shes gone Gone - gone
Life always has its bumps and challenges
And we werent ready when they knocked on our door
We started fighting for our very lifes
And we got careless who we cut with our knifes
Stop I dont want hear it
I can see it all clearly for myself
Shes not who she once was
And shes gone Gone - gone
Someone like her wont let you off easy
Youll pay a price Nothings ever free
I guess thats not unique to just our love
Whats of value always cost you dearly
Now Stop I dont want hear it
I know the fact is she aint coming back
Shes not who she once was
And shes gone Gone - gone
